Asus announced Monday that its Android Wear smartwatch will be introduced to the public in only two days.
The device, called the ZenWatch, will be the first Android Wear smartwatch that the tech company has worked on, according to The Verge. Asus will make the smartwatch available for less than $200, which could be less than smartwatches from Samsung, LG and other competitors.
While the device was announced this week, it won't actually go on sale until October. It has been reported that the smartwatch will be available in stores in the U.S. and other countries.
Jerry Shen, CEO of Asus, said the ZenWatch will include features for voice control, Gizmodo reported. However, it has not been revealed as to how different the features will be from the built-in voice commands offered by Google. Shen added that the smartwatch will look "better than competitors' products."
The device will come in one size and will be able to work without being combined with an Android phone.
The voice control features will be available in English, and eventually in Chinese, according to The Verge. The features are also expected to be provided through a custom app included with the ZenWatch since manufacturers are limited in the changes they can make to Android Wear.
Asus has also given a quick tease of what the smartwatch will look like. It is shown to have a gently curved watch face and a brushed-metal appearance, similar to the one provided on Asus's laptops.
The ZenWatch is set to be revealed on Wednesday, right before this year's International Franchise Association conference held in Berlin, The Verge reported. Potential competitors for the smartwatch include the Moto 360 and the LG G Watch R, which have yet to be released.
