John Stamos has loaded his plate with starring roles and potential projects. His latest addition is the leading role on the new ABC country club drama, "Members Only."
Stamos will play the fast-talking, hedge-fund billionaire husband to female lead Mickey, played by Natalie Zea, according to Deadline. The marriage provides Stamos' character with membership to an exclusive country club, something his money wouldn't buy.
The TV show has a "Downton Abbey" premise, but the drama ensues between the elitist members of a Connecticut country club and its working-class employees. It will premiere midseason on ABC.
The TV veteran will also be an executive producer and star in a new comedy series from Dan Fogelman. Stamos will play a version of himself - a charismatic, lifelong ladies man - whose whole life changes when he discovers he has a grown son who's nothing like him.
The biggest news for the "Full House" alum may be his new project to reboot the classic '90s sitcom, according to TV Guide. Stamos, who played Uncle Jesse for eight seasons, has an ownership stake in the show and has teamed with the original executive producer Bob Boyett and creator Jeff Franklin for the new project. He has also recruited his former co-stars Candace Cameron Bure, Jodie Sweetin and Andrea Barber to join the cast, as well as Bob Saget and Dave Coulier to participate in some capacity.
"We're sort of working on a twist of a sequel," he told "Watch What Happens Live" host Andy Cohen earlier this year. "But we don't know if it's going to happen yet or not."
Stamos has teased a possible reunion of sorts, including a movie, in recent years for the cast who has remained close since the show ended in 1995. The current project may land at Netflix, according to Deadline.
