Is Bigfoot Hiding in an Abandoned Playground in Mississippi?

Paranormal investigator David Childers reportedly saw an unknown creature hiding in an abandoned playground in Mississippi. Evidence seemed to point in the direction that the creature could be Bigfoot.

Childers narrated that he was in the playground trying to film something paranormal last November when he heard something crash in the woods. When he checked the source of the noise, he saw a creature running away from him.

"It was definitely a shaggy coat to it, like a grayish-brown color. When it made the noise that spooked me, I looked over, and it looked like it stood up and just bolted off," Childers told USA Today.

Childers was not the only person claiming that he saw something in the woods. Peyton Lassiter, who lived nearby, shared that he found a footprint while he was fixing an air conditioning unit in a building 400 yards away from the playground on Aug. 12.

Lassiter made a cast of the nine-inch footprint with six-inch wide toes. Such footprints do not belong to a human or a bear.

"That right there isn't human," Lassiter told WLBT.

Coincidentally, it was the same hair color of the creature that Childers encountered.

Lassiter also cited a report describing a sighting of a "wood ape." The report was made by a priest in Natchez in 1721 describing the creature as human-like and ape-like. In 1876, the Vicksburg Daily Herald wrote a story about the sighting of a similar creature in the Mississippi area. Hunters chased it, but it was able to escape and headed to Louisiana.

The existence of Bigfoot has long been a subject of debate by most scientists. Some believe that the creature was a result of a hoax, misidentification, and folklore. Some tried to establish a claim by analyzing DNA samples of evidences linked to the creature. Just recently, DNA analyses of 57 hair samples revealed that Bigfoot isn't real, and the samples possibly came from coyotes, deer, raccoons, cows, and humans.
