Elsa promised never to close the castle gates again at the end of "Frozen," and she keeps her promise in a new short film from Disney.
The Snow Queen's icy powers will cause some trouble for her sister Anna's birthday celebration in the short called "Frozen Fever." Elsa and Kristoff will try to throw the best party for the Princess of Arendelle and, of course, Olaf the snowman will make an appearance as well.
Disney announced the short, set to debut next spring, during the ABC primetime special "The Story of Frozen: Making an Animated Classic" on Sept. 2.
The film's directors Jennifer Lee and Chris Buck will reunite with songwriters Robert Lopez and Kristen Anderson-Lopez, who wrote the chart-topping and Oscar-winning song "Let It Go." They will pen another new original song for the short film.
Two more short films will debut next year, according to Variety. "Lava" from Pixar Animation Studios will premiere before the studio's latest feature film "Inside Out." The short stars a Hawaiian volcano named Uku who is searching for love and sings a version of "Somewhere Over the Rainbow."
The singer Kuana Torres Kahele voices the lonely volcano, whose look was inspired in part by comedian/singer Jackie Gleason, according to the short's director James Ford Murphy. "Lava" and "Inside Out" hit theaters on June 19, 2015.
The third short film from Disney is called "Feast." It features the relationship between a Boston terrier puppy named Winston and his owner over a 12-year period.
Patrick Osbourne directed the short (he previously worked on the romantic, black and white short "Paperman"). "Feast" will premiere before the Walt Disney Animation Studios' "Big Hero Six" on Nov. 7, 2014.
