Under Armour has signed Gisele Bundchen for its "I Will What I Want" campaign, she will join a line of equally famous women celebrities endorsing the promotion.
Gisele Bundchen will front the advertising campaign for Under Armour's upcoming women's wear campaign, titled "I Will Want What I Want." The company made the announcement by sharing a short YouTube teaser, Tuesday. The supermodel is seen lying down in a room wearing Under Armour apparel.
Bundchen is not the only celebrity roped in for this campaign. She joins the likes of ballerina Misty Copeland, skier Lindsey Vonn and tennis player Sloane Stephens, who will also be part of the endorsements. ESPN reported that the deal Bundchen struck with the brand is a multi-year one but no financial terms were disclosed.
"There is a new way Under Armour is going to speak to female athletes and create a voice for athletic females," Under Armour CEO Kevin Plank said at an event in July, according to WWD. "So today we are starting that conversation and positioning our women's business to equal or surpass our men's business in the future ... that is the march we are on today."
According to USA TODAY, TV ads featuring the Brazilian supermodel will begin telecasting Thursday. Very recently, NBA superstar Kevin Durant reportedly turned down Under Armour's 10-year endorsement deal offer of about $275 million and instead signed up with NIKE.
Earlier this month, Forbes crowned Bundchen as the highest paid model of 2014, with an earnings for $47 million before taxes and fees in the last 12 months. Doutzen Kroes and Adriana Lima were placed in second and third, but Bündchen out-earned them by a whopping $39 million. The website also reported that the Brazilian beauty earned $16 million more than her husband. Bündchen was first named the highest-paid model in the world by Forbes in 2002. She has succeeded in holding onto the title eight years in a row.
