The father of the missing 4-year-old autistic boy has been arrested in a quadruple murder case Friday.
Officers at Pasco County, Fla., had issued an Amber Alert for the boy, Ismael Tristan Santisteban, Thursday after four bodies were discovered near his Florida home. Santisteban went missing along with his 28-year-old father Adam Matos.
Matos was taken into custody by SWAT teams from a Floridian Hotel by the Pasco County Sheriff's Office and Tampa Police Department. Ismael was not injured, Pasco County Sheriff Chris Nocco told Florida's WESH.
According to the Pasco County Sheriff's Office, detectives reported to the Tampa-area house Thursday afternoon to check on the boy, but they did not find anyone at home. Authorities noticed a stench and walked down the street toward birds circling the air, and found the decomposed bodies of two men and two women, reports the New York Daily News.
The officials did not release the names of the victims.
Matos was an employee at the Get Hooked Bar and Grill in Hudson. He worked there as a dishwasher, after shifting to the area from Pennsylvania a couple of months ago. "He wasn't here very long, we hired him walking off the street, said he was looking for a job. Didn't last very long, had to fire him," says John Logan, manager of the restaurant, reports the USA Today. Logan said Matos was irregular at work.
Matos has a criminal background, including charges of harassment, theft, DUI, assault, burglary - and he might have been on probation in Pennsylvania.
