Sennheiser appears to be following Beats' approach to developing headphones with the unveiling of its own line of devices that come with a heavy bass.
The new headphones will be available in two versions, which are the one-ear Urbanite and the over-the-ear Urbanite XL, according to PC Magazine. Both headphones will feature built-in microphones and audio controls, as well as a short cable.
"The Urbanite is completely dedicated to delivering only the most intense sound pleasure that will reflect the skill of Sennheiser's uncompromising aural expertise," Sennheiser says in its description. "It serves up massive bass, while still ensuring excellent clarity through the entire frequency range, making ears feel like it's their first time with a pair of headphones all over again."
The German audio company said the Urbanite headphones will be available in black or denim, PC Magazine reported. The Urbanite XL will have more color options, including black, denim, olive, sand and a version called "nation," which comes in red, white and blue.
Headphone enthusiasts can buy the Urbanite now for $200, but the $250 Urbanite XL will not be available in stores until the fourth quarter of this year.
