"Dexter" star Michael C. Hall will be taking on the lead role in Broadway's "Hedwig and the Angry Inch."
Variety reports the actor will be stepping into the platform boots once Andrew Rannells ends his run as Hedwig.
"Hedwig and the Angry Inch" is a musical about a fictional rock band called the Angry Inch, and follows the struggles of Hedwig, an East German transgender singer, according to the show's official website.
Hall joins Neil Patrick Harris among television stars that have taken on the character. Harris took to Twitter to congratulate Hall on his new gig.
Hall will reportedly play Hedwig through Jan, 4, which will likely bring in huge profits due to the tourism boost in New York during the holidays. The New York Times reports ticket sales for the Broadway show have been declining since Harris left.
Rannells' first two weeks as Hedwig reportedly grossed about $650,000, but now the show is bringing in a little more than $500,000 for eight performances a week. However, the New York Times claims a dip in numbers is normal for "slow-selling weeks" in September.
Hall isn't new to the Broadway scene. He starred in "Cabaret" in 2000 and "Chicago" in 2002. However, Hall just wrapped the final season of "Dexter" in 2013 after an eight-season run.
Hall's first performance in Broadway's "Hedwig and the Angry Inch" is set for Oct. 16.
