Today Apple released its first phablet.
The iPhone 6 Plus is described in plain terms as the result of a smartphone and a tablet having a baby.
Compared to the iPhone 6, the iPhone 6 Plus has a higher resolution with a pixel density of 401 ppi (pixels per inch). This resolution is a record for Apple phones, according to Mashable.
Today on stage at Apple's unveiling event in Cupertino, Calif., CEO Tim Cook said Apple is "launching the biggest advancement in the history of iPhone."
The new phablet capabilities are most comparable to Samsung's Galaxy Note series of smartphones, reports The Guardian.
This is the first iPhone to be completely designed under the supervision of Cook.
