Android users will be happy to hear that Amazon has just made its Instant Video and Prime Instant Video streaming services available on Android devices.
The e-commerce giant's Android app has been updated to allow users in the U.S., the U.K., and Germany to buy and stream their favorite movies and TV shows, according to The Next Web.
Amazon's streaming services were previously only available on Kindle Fire devices. Users must subscribe to Amazon Prime to stream shows like Vikings, Extant and Alpha House. The subscription gives customers free one-day delivery when they purchase an item from Amazon, as well as over 500,000 Kindle titles that they can borrow for free. Subscribers will also get free, 5GB of space for photos in Amazon Cloud Drive and unlimited streaming of over 15,000 movies and shows. The service costs $99 in the U.S. and 79 pounds in the U.K., CNET reported.
Unlike those with Android phones, owners of the company's Kindle Fire tablet and Kindle Fire Phone are able to download videos without the need for an internet connection. The Fire Phone is now available in stores in the U.K. and Europe, and Amazon has brought the device's price down to 99 cents.
Android smartphone and tablet users can download the Amazon App for Android now for free from Google Play, CNET reported.
Amazon Prime comes with a 30-day free trial for users looking to give the service a shot.
