A TV sequel for Steven Spielberg's 2002 film "Minority Report" is currently in the works. According to Entertainment Weekly, Fox ordered a pilot of the show that would pick up 10 years after the events of the film, in which Tom Cruise's character used Precogs - really smart "people" who could see into the future - to arrest citizens before they actually committed a crime.
In the film, PreCrime was eventually shut down, the prisoners were released since they didn't actually commit the crime, and the three Precogs tried to go on and live a normal life. According to EW, this is where the TV sequel picks up. One of the Precogs is having a hard time adjusting to a normal life and is haunted by visions of the future so the Precog teams up with a detective who is haunted by her own past.
Justin Falvery and Darryl Frank signed on as executive producers and "Godzilla's Max Borenstein will pen the series. Spielberg is also response for bringing "Falling Skies" and "Under the Dome" to television. The TV sequel of "Minority Report" is still in the very early stages but some social media users are already excited about it.
