Only days after the release of "Hyrule Warriors," developer Koei Tecmo has announced the next installment in the "Warriors" series - "One Piece: Pirate Warriors 3," another collaborative effort with Bandai Namco, as reported by Siliconera. It is due to land in Japanese retailers in 2015 for Playstation 4, Playstation 3 and Playstation Vita consoles.
Being that it is the first game in its series to hit the PS4, fans can expect more intense battles and a higher level of immersion into the story due to the enhanced graphics, Tokyo Otaku Mode reported.
More than 2 million fans of the popular manga "One Piece," which has gained worldwide acclaim in the past decade, have partaken of the digital booty that was "Pirate Warriors" since the original game's release in 2012. Now, the next game's black flag has appeared on the horizon, marked with a skull topped with the iconic straw hat made famous by the series' protagonist, Monkey D. Luffy.
While little information regarding the character roster is known at present, players can expect to play as the rubber-bodied pirate captain Luffy and his powerful, yet unorthodox crew as they fight off Marines, World Government agents and fellow pirates alike in pursuit of the One Piece, the legendary treasure that will grant the title of "King of the Pirates" to the man (or woman) strong enough to claim it.
No official date is known for a Japanese release. Even though there has been no official announcement of a Western release, both predecessors made it overseas, so there is a good chance the third will make the journey, as reported by Playstation Universe.
