It's been 13 years since the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks and earlier this morning, a tribute was held in New York City at the 9/11 Memorial to remember those affected by the tragedy. At the White House, President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama, along with Vice President Joe Biden, held a moment of silence to honor the lives lost on Sept. 11, 2001.
Dedicated moments of silence were at:
8:46 a.m.: In observance of the first plane striking the North Tower
9:03 a.m.: In observance of the second plane striking the South Tower
9:37 a.m.: In observance of Flight 77 striking the Pentagon
9:59 a.m.: In observance of South Tower falling
10:03 a.m.: In observance of Flight 93 crashing near Shanksville, Pa.
10:28 a.m.: In observance of the North Tower falling
Many celebrities took to Twitter and Instagram to share touching tweets and photos as they remembered 9/11:
