A person's social media presence exists long after they die or go missing. The same applies for fictional character Amy Dunne who goes missing and is presumed murdered by her husband Nick in the new film "Gone Girl."
Twentieth Century Fox, the studio behind the movie adaptation, has created a Pinterest page for the character, portrayed on-screen by Rosamund Pike. Her 10 boards explore her specific interests, her life with Nick, played by Ben Affleck, and perhaps the life she dreams of living.
In the best-selling novel by Gillian Flynn, adapted for the movie, Amy moves from New York City to her husband's hometown in Missouri where he opens a bar. Dunne's Pinterest reflects the love she had for the city and the cozy, comfort of her new life in the Midwest. She also dedicates a board called "The Bar" for her favorite beers, wines and cocktails.
Her other boards show off her sweet tooth, her passion for writing, and her do-it-yourself spirit for home décor. She also collects ideas for Nick and a "Wishful Escapes" board may reveal her true intentions in the story.
"Gone Girl" opens in theaters on Oct. 3. The David Fincher film also stars Neil Patrick Harris, Tyler Perry and Carrie Coon.
