If you've ever felt like nursing a hangover is the biggest waste of time, you're not alone. The average Briton spends almost a year of their lives with a hangover, according to a charity.
About one in 14 Britons will have 3,000 hangovers in their lifetime, a survey by Macmillan Cancer Support revealed.
The survey also found that Britons suffering from frequent hangovers have missed important life events while nursing the after-effects of drinking, such as first dates, job interviews, weddings and even funerals.
The charity surveyed 2,000 British adults for the study.
"This research shows hangovers are a waste of time and are causing people to miss out on everything from romance to their dream job," Hannah Redmond, head of national events marketing for Macmillan Cancer Support, told Telegraph.
Macmillan Cancer Support is trying to help Britons combat their excessive hangovers with their "Go Sober for October" fundraising campaign. The campaign encourages people to go the entire month without drinking and to have family and friends sponsor them, Telegraph reported. The raised money will contribute to the cost of treatments for cancer patients.
