Baylor's explosive offense scored 115 points through their first two games. The Bears opened the season with a 45-0 win over SMU and followed it the next week with a 70-6 rout of Northwestern State. Quarterback Seth Russell has been on fire since taking over for Bryce Petty in Week 1, completing 60.4 percent of his passes for 562 yards and six touchdowns, and running backs Johnny Jefferson and Silas Nacita combined for 188 yards and four touchdowns.

One of the biggest additions to Baylor's offense, though, came in the form of speedy freshman receiver KD Cannon. The Texas native has blown the tops off of defenses to the tune of 282 yards and four touchdowns on just eight receptions. Most of Cannon's production - six receptions and three touchdown catches of 50, 81 and 42 yards - came in just the first quarter against North Western.

"I never dreamed of nothing like that. Coming into the game, Coach said I was going to get more playing time than I did last week. That was all I was expecting," Cannon told the Associated Press. "I wasn't expecting to score three touchdowns in the first quarter."

Cannon could be catching passes Friday night from Petty, whom coach Art Briles said would play.

Buffalo, meanwhile, is 1-1 after following their season-opening win against Duquesne with a 47-39 loss at Army. One area the Bulls will look to improve on is turnovers; quarterback Joe Licata accounted for three interceptions in the loss against Army.
