People go to any extent to take revenge. In one such case a northern California man was arrested after he allegedly fed his former girlfriend her pet dog after abducting it.
34-year-old Ryan Watenpaugh of Palo Cedro was charged with counts of domestic violence, false imprisonment, stalking and cruelty to animals, the police said Thursday.
According to the Shasta County Jail documents, the ex-girlfriend informed police that Watenpaugh stalked her. They both had a rough relationship and she was a victim of domestic violence, reports Reuters.
However, the two tried to settle their relationship over a meal that Watenpaugh made. He then asked the girl how her dog tasted in a series of text messages. "I guess u could bury what u didn't eat," the messages read. "The smile on my face when you read this ... priceless," CNN affiliate KRCR reported.
The girl then received a bag on her porch that contained two dog paws a few days later, along with a note. "Burn in hell," the note said. "I hate you so much it hurts. Stay away from me. I want nothing to do with you. F--- you." At the bottom of the note: a smiley face. She told police that her Pomeranian dog named Bear went missing in August following her escape from the apartment to save herself from Watenpaugh's assault.
Upon interrogation, Watenpaugh confessed that he left paws on his ex-girlfriend's porch. However, he said he did not kill and cook the pet.
Investigators authorities found an AK-47 assault rifle and several high capacity magazines, after they searched Watenpaugh's house. He is being held in the Shasta County Jail on a $250,000 bail, according to jail records.
