Kanye West paused his concert at Sydney's Qantas Credit Union Arena on Friday to demand everyone in the crowd get on their feet; while most concertgoers complied, two did not - one individual in a wheelchair and another who had a prosthetic limb, according to The Independent.
The rapper reportedly shocked fans by stopping the show after realizing that the two individuals were not standing and told the crowd that he would not continue to the next song unless they stood up.
"I can't do this show until everybody stand up," West insisted. "Unless you got a handicap pass, and you get special parking and s-t... It's literally two people left. There's two people left. They don't want to stand up. This is the longest I've had to wait to do a song. It's unbelievable... Now if he is in a wheelchair, then it's fine."
Fans began to boo the individuals, also taunting them to stand up. West reportedly sent his bodyguard to go and confirm if one man was actually in a wheelchair. Another fan waved their prosthetic leg in the air to prove they couldn't stand, and Kanye continued the show.
A witness told the Daily Mail that "the crowd was also yelling that he was in a wheelchair but he waited for Pascal's confirmation" and others in the crowd made "wheelchair motions" to let the rapper know he was making a mistake.
No report on whether the rapper apologized for his actions. However, a source told People Magazine that the sitituation was blown out of proportion and "there was no malicious intent to offend. Anyone that has been to a Kanye concert knows that he asks for crowd participation."
The incident was captured by a YouTube user.
