Motorola announced Sunday that it will start taking pre-orders for the all-new Moto X smartphone and Moto Hint Bluetooth earpiece starting Tuesday. This will be accompanied by the coveted Moto 360 smartwatch, which will go on sale once again after being sold out in a matter of few hours last week.
Motorola's 2014 flagship Moto X will be available in two models, on-contract with AT&T or unlocked with GSM. The AT&T version of the smartphone will be available for a subsidized price of $100 with a standard two-year service contract. The off-contract price of the Moto X is set at $500.
Motorola has found success with its unique selling strategy. After discounting the price of the original Moto X, the company managed to push several units off the shelf. The upgraded Moto X challenges other tech giants with high-end features at a reasonable price, making it appealing to budget consumers who do not want to compromise on the specs.
The latest flagship smartphone by Motorola features a metal frame, a bigger 5.2-inch Full HD display and upgraded 2.5GHz Snapdragon processor from Qualcomm along with new styling cues. The camera has also been upgraded to 13 megapixels with the ability to shoot in 4K mode. The smartphone is built from the ground up complete with more voice commands, touch-less controls and more.
In addition to the Moto X, the phone maker will also begin pre-orders for the latest accessories released alongside Moto X this month. The Moto Hint Bluetooth earpiece will be available for pre-orders at $150. Another accessory, the Motorola Turbo Charger, will be available Tuesday for $35. The power charger for Moto X smartphone takes just 15 minutes to charge the phone to last for more than eight hours.
Motorola also mentioned in its blog that the highly anticipated Moto 360 will resume sales on Tuesday. The circular-faced smartwatch is in high demand after its first sale session last week.
