NFL Week 2: Monday Night Football Injury Report; Eagles Visit Colts With Hurting Offensive Line

The Philadelphia Eagles (1-0) will face the Indianapolis Colts (0-1) on Monday Night Football and a number of injuries may influence the outcome of the contest. The Eagles will be without two starting offensive lineman in Indy tonight.

Last week against the Jacksonville Jaguars, Eagles Pro Bowl guard Evan Mathis sprained his MCL and was placed on the injured reserved-designated to return list a few days later. The team also lost starting right tackle Allen Barbre for the entire season due to an ankle injury. Barbre was filling in for the suspended Lane Johnson, who is out for the first four games of the season.

Mathis' backup, Matt Tobin, is also out tonight because of an ankle injury he's been dealing with since the preseason, so guard Dennis Kelly will continue filling in for Mathis as he did last week. In the meantime, tackle Andrew Gardner will take over for Barbre. Also on the offensive side of the ball, wide receiver Brad Smith (groin) and running back Chris Polk (hamstring) are listed as probable while wide receiver Josh Huff (shoulder) will miss tonight's action.

As for the Colts, they have a number of starters on the injury report who might miss tonight's game. Khaled Holmes, the team's starting center, is listed as questionable with an ankle injury and was limited in practice all week. Starting nose tackle Josh Chapman (ankle) and starting defensive tackle Arthur Jones (shoulder) are both listed as questionable for tonight as well. Chapman was limited in practice on Friday and participated fully on Saturday, but Jones only practice on Saturday and was limited.

Running back Ahmad Bradshaw and wide receiver Reggie Wayne were listed on the injury report for "rest" and will play tonight, and so will starting cornerback Greg Toler (ribs) and backup safety Sergio Brown (shoulder). But the Colts will be without starting inside linebacker Jerrell Freeman, who will be missing his first game in three years because of a hamstring injury he suffered last week against the Denver Broncos.

The Colts will be playing in their second primetime game in the past two weeks when they host the Eagles tonight at 8:30 on ESPN.
