Microsoft Releases OneNote App Updates For Android Wear And iOS 8

Microsoft announced Tuesday that it is releasing new versions of its OneNote application for Android Wear and iOS 8 devices.

The move follows only months after Google introduced smartwatches for its Android Wear platform, according to The Verge. With the update, Android Wear users can say "OK Google, take a note," and the app will listen and taken notes given to it.

The iOS 8 update comes with a new share extension, which will let iPhone and iPad owners share content from any app with OneNote. Other new capabilities include clipping websites from Safari, importing file attachments from emails, and saving photos from an iOS library.

Microsoft is also making improvements to apps for Windows Phone, The Verge reported. The Office Lens app is being updated so it can convert images on paper documents and whiteboard notes into Word and PowerPoint files. While OneNote has always had support from Office Lens, the update lets users turn notes and drawings into Word text that can be edited and drawings that can be colored, edited and resized on PowerPoint.

The updates are Microsoft's latest effort in proving the simplicity of its apps and services, following the Redmond, Washington-based tech giant's integration of OneNote with its Surface Pro 3 pen. Microsoft fans can get the three updates for OneNote now, at their respective app stores.
