“The Big Bang Theory” actress Kaley Cuoco is rocking a new look for the season 8 premiere.
Cuoco, who plays Penny on the show, has chopped off her blonde locks and now donning a pixie cut. During an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Cuoco explained why Penny has shorter hair this season.
“I cut it really short, but it was for a movie over the summer,” Cuoco told EW. “There was a lot of talk about doing extensions or something else. I had a talk with the writers who loved it, and they were great about it.”
The actress added, “I said, ‘I think it would be a great change for Penny in the show. And they were really cool about it and on my side. And they wrote it in. So I got lucky.”
“The Big Bang Theory” season 8 premiere will air on Monday, Sept. 22 at 8 p.m. on CBS.
Speaking of appearances, Cuoco’s co-star Mayim Bialik recently went on a rant about singer Ariana Grande posing in her “underwear.” Bialik took to her blog on Kveller.com about the singer being sexualized in order to sell records.
“I don’t want my kids learning about sex from billboards,” the actress wrote. “Which is why a few billboards I have seen lately really bug me. There is one for Ariana Grande, and I will go ahead and admit I have no idea who she is or what she does. Based on the billboard, she sells lingerie. Or stiletto heels. Or plastic surgery because every woman over 22 wishes she has that body, I’m sure.
“Why is she in her underwear on this billboard though?” Bialik continued. “And if she has a talent (is she a singer?), then why does she have to sell herself in lingerie? I mean, I know that society is patriarchal and women are expected to be sexy and sexually available no matter what we do in society, but I guess now I need to explain that to my sons?”
Grande has not commented on Bialik’s blog post.
