Usually, when announcers say that the crowd has affected a game, they mean they've done so via
chants and loud cheering. It's rare that fans can actually affect the game via actions.
But that seems to be the case in this report from The Guardian on an incident that recently befell Swiss goalkeeper Reto Felder. In what must be one of the most disgusting and unbelievable instances of poor sportsmanship ever recorded, the FC Muri player is considering legal action against fans whom he claims urinated in his water bottle during a game.
The incident occurred during a match against FC Baden this past weekend, and the goalkeeper claims
that he is "still feeling sick".
"I have never experienced anything like it," said Felder of the fans, who also shouted, "now you will get
AIDS". "That is just primitive filth," he said. "I took one sip and realized that it was warm but thought that
it was because of the sun. But by the second sip I realized that something was wrong."
Baden President Thomi Bram said he was "horrified" by the allegations but wanted to see
video of the incident before making any comments on the situation.
For its part, the Swiss Football Association says it is not taking the situation lightly. A spokesperson said, "We take this incident very seriously. We are at the moment waiting to see what decision FC Baden arrives at. We can't do too much at the moment. The club or the player can, however, go to a civil court."
The 34-year-old goalkeeper is still reeling over the actions of the disturbed fans. "The mere thought of
drinking p--- is unbearable. What if, the next time, it is something that knocks you out?"
