It looks like Tim McGraw is really taking the title of his new album to heart. With "Sundown Heaven Town," the country superstar is literally blazing a trail from dawn to sundown - and beyond - on back-to-back days in New York City.
Today (Sept. 17), McGraw starts the day hanging out with the cast of "The View" to tout yesterday's (Sept. 16) release of "Sundown Heaven Town." He wraps up the day with a performance on "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon."
Today's jam-packed day follows yesterday's sunrise performance by McGraw on "Good Morning America," and later that night the singer teamed up with award-winning director Bennett Miller ("Moneyball," "Capote") for the music series "American Express Unstaged" at Hammerstein Ballroom. The concert was streamed live at amexunstaged.com.
McGraw will round out the week on Sept. 18 at the SiriusXM studios as part of a special edition of SiriusXM's "Town Hall" series.
From start to finish, "Sundown Heaven Town" tips its hat to the traditions of country music, then tosses some new ingredients into the mix while "balancing authentic country atmosphere with pop polish," according to the Boston Globe.
Co-produced by McGraw and Byron Gallimore - with whom he has collaborated on all 12 of his previous multi-platinum chart-topping albums - "Sundown Heaven Town" marks the iconic star's 13th studio album.
The three-time Grammy Award-winning entertainer has accumulated 35 No. 1s, 54 Top 10 hits and sold more than 40 million albums. He has won 14 Country Music Association Awards, 15 Academy of Country Music Awards and 10 American Music Association awards.
McGraw is currently up for two CMA Awards, including Single of the Year and Musical Event of the Year for "Meanwhile Back At Mama's" (featuring Faith Hill). The 48th annual CMA Awards are set for Nov. 5 in Nashville.
McGraw's current single "Shotgun Rider" is zipping up the charts now. Wonder if he is going to ride shotgun from dawn to sundown?
