Avril Lavigne Divorce Rumors: ‘Hello Kitty’ Singer, Husband Headed Towards Split After Year of Marriage?

Avril Lavigne and her husband Chad Kroeger celebrated their one-year wedding anniversary a few months ago, but have reportedly already hit a rough patch. A source close to the couple told E! News that Lavigne and Kroeger's relationship is on the rocks and the two musicians are considering a split.

According to the site, the "Hello Kitty" singer and the Nickelback frontman have been "fighting a lot."

"The main issue is this: When they met, they were in work mode. They were doing a collaboration and that's where the attraction stemmed from," the source explained. "She was in the studio and he was producing her. She was also coming off some bad relationships where she didn't really feel appreciated as an artist. She felt she and Chad connected on that level."

Reportedly the album didn't live up to its expectation and the couple found "that they're not seeing eye to eye on a lot of things," the source said.

According to E!, Lavigne and Kroeger also have a few trust issues.

"There's jealousy on both sides. She flirts, he flirts. She's very insecure to begin with," the source said. "I think for now they're going to try to work it out."

This past summer the couple celebrated their first wedding anniversary. Lavigne and Kroeger tied the knot in the south of France in July 2013.

"It was three days long. And I don't remember much of that," the pop punk rocker said during an appearance on "Chelsea Lately." "It was in a castle, south of France, it was by the water. We got married at 9 o'clock at night, partied until 6 in the morning. Kinda remember the rest, but not."

To celebrate one year of marriage, Kroeger gave his wife a 17-carat, emerald cut ring.

"I still can't believe my 1 year anniversary gift. 17 carat emerald cut. Wow I love my hubby," Lavigne tweeted including a photo of the diamond sparkler.
