On this morning's episode of The Wendy Williams Show, Wendy caused a stir among audience members when she revealed that she once went to Joan Rivers' doctor; the one who reportedly took a selfie with the late comedian when she was under anesthesia, Jezebel reported on Thursday.
Though Rivers's personal doctor was not named in the original CNN report, it has been revealed that her doctor was Dr. Gwen Korovin, an ear, nose and throat specialist "to the stars."
Wendy got the crowd all riled in her segment up by merely mentioning that Korovin treated a lot of celebrities. Wendy herself had been treated by Korovin - and she had the footage to prove it. Apparently, Wendy went to see "Dr. Gwen" while she was preparing for her turn in Chicago last summer. Footage of their session discussing her throat issues aired during her special How You Doin' Broadway?! for the TV Guide Network in October.
During Thursday's episode, Williams cautioned that Korovin "didn't have to operate" on her - "thank god!" and added:
"She doesn't take insurance! Believe me, I gagged about that. Fortunately, because I went to see her on TV time, TV paid for it. Although, that special was a Wendy Williams production so somehow, I paid for it!"
Wendy also suggested that everyone should have a friend sit in the corner when they're going under during operations to make sure everything goes OK. She also said that according to her sources, Dr. Korovin "is now in hiding" and she will keep viewers posted on further developments.
