Ronda Rousey Cleared of Knee and Hand Injury, Wants to Fight Carano, Zingaro and Correia

UFC's Ronda Rousey has been cleared by physicians to begin training again after getting her knee and her thumb fixed.

The Women's Bantamweight Champion's last fight was against Alexis Davis at UFC 175, after which she took time off to undergo a minor knee surgery and heal her hand, according to Bloody Elbow.

It was also shortly after her victory over Davis that Rousey was asked on short notice to defend her title at UFC 176, though she took that moment to reveal that she needed to get the surgery.

Rousey announced that she was cleared to get back in the Octagon in a recent media scrum in Brazil, Yahoo! Sports reported.

"I got knee surgery right [after my last fight]. And actually, I broke my thumb in my last fight, right next to the joint. I had a pin stuck in and I was in a cast all summer, as well as a knuckle," she said.

Rousey was also challenged by Brazilian fighter Bethe Correia around the same time she found out that she could start training again. The champion said she wants to fight Correia, but is currently focused on fighting Gina Carano and Zingano.

"I think the two fights that I would like the most are either Gina Carano or Cat Zingano, because I know she's recovering," Rousey said. "I talked to her personally and I was like, 'One day we are going to have the title fight that you deserve. I'm going to beat you, but we're going to have it.' She's had a very, very rough year, and I think that's exactly what she would need and I'm happy to provide the experience for her."

Rousey also hopes to take on either Carano or Zingano on the UFC's New Year's card, which is set to feature Jon Jones fight Daniel Cormier, Yahoo! Sports reported. She added that she would love to participate on the biggest card of the year.

"I would love to fight Jan. 3 on the card with Jon Jones and Daniel Cormier," Rousey said. "That would be what I prefer. I love fighting on New Year's because it's one of the biggest shows of the year and I love being part of it."
