“Game of Thrones” season five is currently in production, but the release of the sixth “A Song of Fire and Ice” installment is still up in the air. Author George R.R. Martin has yet to confirm a launch date for “Winds of Winter.”
Martin recently spoke to Digital Spy about his writing process. The author explained he gave up talking about the status of “Winds of Winter” because it changes day by day.
“I have days where I make lots of progress, I have days where I make next to no progress, I have days where I think I'm going backwards because I don't like what I wrote yesterday,” Martin said. “So I've given up making any predictions on that. I'm just writing it and when it's done, it'll be done."
The “Game of Thrones” author also won’t give out a tentative launch date for the sixth novel. “Game of Thrones” season five premieres on HBO in 2015.
