Los Angeles overcame a 4-1 deficit in the seventh inning with five runs, ultimately going on to win the game 8-4. The win was only the second time Los Angeles has bounced back this season when trailing after six innings, according to the Associated Press.

"It honestly didn't look very good early, but at this point in the season, it doesn't matter what happens to you," Dodgers manager Don Mattingly told the Associated Press. "If you walk away with a W, you feel good about it."

Part of the problem was Dodgers starting pitcher Zack Greinke uncharacteristically giving up four runs over fine innings of nine-hit ball.

"It wasn't the sharpest, that's for sure," he said. "I guess it is pretty darned big, because by the fifth inning it didn't look very good. To pull it out was almost like stealing a win."

Despite the Greinke's early struggles on the mound, the team rallied and finished with eight different players recording an RBI, with six of them coming against Chicago's bullpen.

Clayton Kershaw (19-3, 1.70 ERA) starts for Los Angeles on Friday. He's coming off Sunday's win at San Francisco, whom he allowed just two earned runs. Kershaw will be opposed by Edwin Jackson (6-14, 6.09), who allowed seven runs in just over two innings to San Francisco on Aug. 20. Jackson is making his first appearance since that loss, due to a strained right lat.

"It's always fun when you're going against a guy like Kershaw," Jackson told MLB.com, via the Associated Press. "It makes the game interesting. You don't think that you're pitching against Kershaw, you're pitching against the Dodgers. You have eight other guys who can swing the bat."
