Hair extensions are in no way a new trend.
A skull over 3,000 years old from Ancient Egypt was found with her long hair extensions still in tact.
Her body wasn't mummified, it was just wrapped in a mat, reports Live Science.
Researchers don't know much about the woman they found yet, but the extensions show she had a very elaborate hair-do.
It was "a very complex coiffure with approximately 70 extensions fastened in different layers and heights on the head," writes Jolanda Bos, an archaeologist working on the Amarna Project, in an article recently published in the Journal of Egyptian Archaeology.
The woman was buried in an ancient city near current-day Amarna.
Bos told Live Science that she believes the woman's hair was styled with the extensions after her death although people in Amarna donned hair extensions in everyday life.
Other skulls found also had hair extensions, some of which were different colors suggesting hair was donated from several different people for the extensions.
