NBA Rumors: Phoenix Suns Considered Favorites to Land Zoran Dragic

They say a happy locker room is supposed to resemble a group of brothers. The Phoenix Suns may be taking that sentiment literally.

The Suns are reportedly the favorite to sign Slovenian shooting guard Zoran Dragic. Zoran is Suns point guard and 2014's most improved player award-winner Goran Dragic's younger brother. The Suns roster already features twins Markieff and Marcus Morris. The family that plays together stays together, after all.

ESPN.com's Marc Stein tweeted Sunday, "ESPN sources say the Suns have emerged as clear frontrunner to sign Zoran Dragic away from Unicaja Malaga in Spanish ACB. Word out of Spain is that Zoran - Goran Dragic's younger brother - likely lands two-year NBA deal provided final hurdles cleared this week."

The Dallas Mavericks, Indiana Pacers, Miami Heat, Orlando Magic, Sacramento Kings and San Antonio Spurs have all expressed interest in the 25-year-old.

If signed, Dragic would join one of the most talented and crowded back courts in the NBA. Phoenix already has Goran Dragic, Isaiah Thomas, Tyler Ennis and Archie Goodwin on board. That group could see another addition should the Suns resolve their contract issues with Eric Bledsoe for the upcoming season.

The Suns currently have two open roster spots and are roughly $18.7 million under the salary cap without a definitive contract for Bledsoe. However, the buyout deadline in Dragic's contract with Unicaja Malaga ends on Oct. 5.

Zoran Dragic averaged 12.9 points, four rebounds and 1.3 assists playing for Slovenia in the FIBA tournament this summer.
