Fingers crossed! Hilary Duff says a "Lizzie McGuire" reunion could happen.
The 26-year-old former Disney darling, who shot to fame by playing awkward teenager Lizzie McGuire, told the Huffington Post that she "would be totally open" to the cast reuniting for a TV special.
"I love it!" she said. "My schedule is a little busy right now. But um...why not? So many people loved her. I loved her. Honestly, working on that show, I got so strong with my physical comedy and all the things that they would throw at me. I got covered in goo every week, and I got, like, smashed in the face with a locker every single week. And all this, I mean it was a really, really fun show. And obviously people really loved her."
The singer and actress even came up with a name for the reunion special.
"Maybe a 'Lizzie: Where Are You Now?' like 10 years later," Duff said.
"Lizzie McGuire" ran from 2001 to 2004 and included "The Lizzie McGuire Movie," which was released in 2003 and based on the popular Disney television series. After the show ended, Duff went on to star in several films, including "A Cinderella Story," "Raise Your Voice" and "Cheaper by the Dozen," before taking a break from showbiz.
The mother of two-year-old Luca is back and busy focusing on her music. She is also returning to television in a new TV Land sitcom, "Younger." Duff released her first single in six years titled "Chasing The Sun," and has announced plans to release an album.
"I've worked very hard and the album is a great representation of the experiences I've had in my life and where I want to go from here," she told E! News. "I'm really proud of the album I've made."
