Sarah Silverman has no plans to be Mrs. Michael Sheen.
The 43-year-old Emmy-winning comedienne took to Twitter on Sunday to slam false tabloid reports that said she was pressuring her boyfriend, Michael Sheen, into marrying her.
"Just read that I wanna get married which is hilarious b/c I will never get married," the "Masters of Sex" actress wrote.
Adding: "Why would I want the govt involved in my love life? Ew. It's barbaric. That s--t never bothers me b/c who cares but I feel like this one is bigoted. The Jew girl MUST want a RING! Yich."
Star Magazine recently ran a story titled, "Sarah Wants A Ring," with claims that the comedian had left "pictures of engagement rings all over the place so Michael will see them. It drives Michael a little crazy because he doesn't want to marry yet. Michael has thought about getting a ring just to shut her up...but he's scarred that she'll start planning a wedding right away."
The couple reportedly began dating Sheen last year after they met at his 45th birthday party in West Hollywood. The couple went public with their relationship in February and during her acceptance speech at 2014 Emmy Awards, Silverman mentioned her boyfriend saying, "Mark Flanagan at Largo. Thank you for making Largo my home, and for introducing me to my love, Mr. Fancypants Sheen."
In April, Silverman poked fun at her relationship with Sheen during an episode of ABC's "The View."
"This is so awkward. Listen, I love his body, but I also love what's inside," she said. "He speaks foreign, he's foreign and on his show 'Masters of Sex' he speaks perfect American, I'm like 'If you can talk normal, why don't you do that all the time?' And I like to get in his face and go, 'USA, number one!' and he's like 'Number one in what?' and I'm like 'Obesity?'"
Silverman was previously involved with fellow comedian Jimmy Kimmel for five years until they split in 2009. Sheen was married to Kate Beckinsale for eight years before splitting in 2003.
