Xbox One Price Cut in UK: Could The U.S. Be Next? (PHOTO)

IGN is reporting today that Microsoft is lowering the price of the Xbox One in the UK to £329.99, making it £20 cheaper than Sony's PS4 for the first time in that country.

Overall, this is the third price cut for the new hardware in 10 months. The Xbox One launched last November for £429.99, before being reduced to £349.99, the same price as a PlayStation 4.

Naturally, the £329.99 bundle doesn't include a Kinect sensor or any games - it is just a base/core system and one controller. That being said, savvy retailers are beginning to match that price, with a White Xbox One and "Sunset Overdrive" bundle now being listed on Amazon for £329.

It will be interesting to see how this price cut affects sales of console in the UK. If it does indeed raise sales considerably, will the same price cut be implemented stateside sometime in the not-too-distant future? That move would certainly make sense, and be very consumer friendly, as Xbox One sales are still lagging considerably behind the PS4 and Nintendo's Wii U as of September 13 2014 as the chart below shows.

Stay tuned for more as it develops.
