Batman's Suit Remixed with Mayan Influences Is Cooler than You Think

It's kind of interesting (and mind-blowing) to envision The Dark Knight as a Mayan Warrior God, but that's just what one Mexican artist has done...and results are quite spectacular.

An article over at the Creator's Project Blog highlights the work of Kimbal. Using the patterns of ancient Mayan masks and clothes, Kimbal's re-imagined Batman armor seems to pattern itself after the ancient god Camazotz (which translated from the K'iche' language literally means "death bat"), the bat-headed god of the underworld. This very cool fusion of ancient mythology and pop culture was only one of 33 pieces at "Batman a Través de la Creatividad Mexicana," a celebration of Batman's 75th anniversary at the Mexican Museum of Design in Mexico City.

After seeing this suit, one can only imagine the terrible, nightmarish visions of a Mayan Bane, Two-Face, Catwoman, Killer Croc, Harley Quinn and, of course, Joker.
