Papa Original is back in town.
Fans of CW's "The Originals" will be excited to find out that actor Sebastian Roché, who portrays Original vampire hunter Mikael, is alive and plans on sticking around for a while.
In an interview with E! Online, the 50-year-old French-Scottish actor opened up about his character's revival in the CW spinoff series. Roché's character Mikael was killed during season three, by his hybrid son Klaus Mikaelson, played by Joseph Morgan.
Mikael was brought back to life by a witch named Davina, played by actress Danielle Campbell, and upon his return Mikael promised to kill all of his children. However, the witch has full control over the vampire hunter's body and has plans to use him has her secret weapon.
Roché's described his character's relationship with the witch as a teacher/pupil relationship. The actor also promised fans a remarkable and intense family reunion between and his sons, Klaus and Elijah, played by Daniel Gillies.
"When you have Originals in the title and you're Papa Original, I knew that eventually I was going to pop my head in," Roché said. "The first five episodes are going to be very intense and it's going to be quite an epic season, there's no question about it. We're in store for some amazing confrontations between Mikael and his sons."
Mikael still holds a grudge toward Klaus for killing his wife Ester. Season two will reportedly show different layers of Mikael through several flashback scenes.
"Mikael has this thousand-year-old rage and desire for revenge for his son," Roché said. "There are going to be some different aspects this time around but that desire for revenge will be there still. You'll see different layers to the character through flashbacks, and we'll see the history of some of the other characters of our family."
Fans could also witness a possible reunion between Mikael and his wife Ester, who was brought back to live during season one after being resurrected into a witch's body.
How do you think Mikael will react to learning that his wife is alive?
"I can't wait until they meet and find out they've both returned," Roché said. "It will be quite interesting when Mikael finds out that he's surrounded by his entire family again. The emotional ramifications of that encounter will be fascinating. She was someone that he loved deeply and she was torn away from him."
Adding: "I'd really love to see the whole Original family meet, together, in a mea culpa session in modern times."
"The Originals" Season 2 is scheduled to premiere on Monday night, Oct. 6, at 8 p.m. on the CW Network.
