Fantasy Football: Tennessee Titans Running Back Bishop Sankey to See More Touches?

There are always a handful of rookie running backs that make the list of coveted sleeper picks before the NFL season. Tennessee Titans running back Bishop Sankey fell into that category when most fantasy owners started drafting. However, through the first two weeks of the season it seemed as if Sankey was headed for the waiver wire after taking part in only 14 snaps.

But patience is a virtue. Sankey was on the field for 27 of Tennessee's 71 snaps this past Sunday. He finished with 11 touches for 70 yards. Titans coach Ken Whisenhunt offered both praise and constructive criticism when he spoke to the Tennessean.

"He's got good vision, and he looks to have good movement skills," Whisenhunt said. "What I didn't like is attention to detail with him. If he can get the attention to detail better, his reps will increase."

"There were a couple of handoffs where he's not doing it the right way and it almost was a fumble," Whisenhunt noted of Sankey's Week 3 performance. "When he gets those things correct, then he'll have the opportunity to get more playing time."

Mike Clay of ESPN offered some fantasy insight into Sankey's future role.

"It's important to remember that this remains a committee," Clay wrote "But Sankey is a must-own in all formats. It's only a matter of time until he emerges as Tennessee's lead back."

If you got him, keep him. If you don't, add him. Sankey could be the driving force for a mid-season playoff push.
