Amazon Fills Shoppers’ Wish List With Tweets

Amazon has introduced a new feature that integrates with Twitter and allows shoppers to add any item to their wish list with tweets.

Amazon, the world's largest e-commerce giant, introduced a new feature called #AmazonWishList. The latest addition builds on the already-existing #AmazonCart and works in a similar fashion.

Amazon is trying to attract potential customers during their leisure time on Twitter. With #AmazonWishList, Twitter users can add items to their wish list on Amazon while tweeting or scrolling through the feeds.

The e-commerce giant announced the new feature in an official press release, Wednesday, as it prepares for the upcoming holiday shopping season. Users simply need to send a tweet containing the #AmazonWishList hashtag along with a link to the item or reply to a tweet containing an Amazon link with the newly introduced hashtag to add any particular item to the list.

Amazon will respond when the item gets added along with the details of the product, like its availability. It will also send an email confirming the addition.

"Twitter offers Amazon customers a great environment for inspiration and discovery," John Yurcisin, Director of Social at Amazon, said in an official press release. "#AmazonWishList makes it easy for people to quickly add holiday gifts, décor or entertaining items tweeted by interesting people, friends, or brands on Twitter to their Amazon Wish List, allowing customers to simply save items to their Wish List and keep on Tweeting."

In order to take advantage of the new feature, customers must link their Twitter and Amazon.com accounts.

The new feature is built on the idea of #AmazonCart, which was introduced in May. #AmazonCart allows shoppers to add products directly to the cart using tweets.
