Nate Diaz Coming Back to UFC, Facing Rafael dos Anjos in December

Nate Diaz is returning to the UFC after leaving the promotion due to disagreements over fighter pay, and will take on fellow lightweight Rafael dos Anjos in his first fight back.

The issue took place in April and revolved around the lightweight believing he was receiving extremely low pay while competing in the Octagon, referring to UFC fighter salary as "chump change" in an interview with Ariel Helwani, according to Bleacher Report. The situation led to a self-imposed layoff for Diaz and the UFC, taking him off its official rankings for "inactivity."

Diaz will make his return on Dec. 13th to face dos Anjos at UFC on Fox 13. The two fighters will compete in the co-main event.

A source close to Diaz said he is coming back to the Octagon under the terms of his original contract, MMA Fighting reported.

Diaz currently holds a 17-9 record, having won his last fight against Gray Maynard in the main event of The Ultimate Fighter 18 Finale in November. The victory was obtained with a TKO in the first round.

Dos Anjos holds a 22-7 record and won seven of his last eight fights, MMA Fighting reported. His latest victory was over former lightweight champion Benson Henderson, which he earned with a first-round knockout.
