Jason Aldean and girlfriend Brittany Kerr are officially engaged!
The country star proposed to the former NBA cheerleader and "American Idol" contestant during a private tour of the San Diego Zoo on Wednesday (Sept. 24), according to US magazine.
The "Burnin' It Down" singer hasn't publicly commented, but Kerr posted a photo of herself in the zoo to Instagram, writing: "My man did it again. Today was amazing," reported Taste of Country.
Aldean's surprise proposal coincides with his latest Billboard magazine interview, in which he demanded people move on from the extramarital affair that began his relationship with Kerr, notes US magazine. "It has been two years of this s---," Aldean, 37, said of his cheating scandal. "Get over it, already! And then when I finally do get enough of it and say something, every newspaper grabs it. And I'm not trying to get in the headlines - I'm just trying to get people to stop running their mouths."
In September 2012, Aldean was caught kissing Kerr in a Hollywood bar while he was still married to his wife of 12 years, Jessica Ussery. He and Ussery have two daughters together, Keeley and Kendyl. Aldean filed for divorce in April 2013.
Kerr accompanied Aldean to the 2014 CMT Awards this June in Nashville.
When Aldean and Kerr tie the knot, it will be her first marriage and his second.
