Nate Berkus and husband Jeremiah Brent have decided to start a family, Us Weekly reported.
The TV personality and interior designer took to Facebook on Wednesday to announce that he and Brent are expecting their first child together via a surrogate - just four months after getting married in New York City.
"We have had the most special year and it's JUST become even more beautiful," Berkus wrote on Facebook. "We are happy to announce that we are expecting our first child! While we can't share much, we can say that thanks to a surrogate and the support of those we love we will officially be a family in the spring of 2015!"
After eight months of dating, the couple became engaged this past April. In May, Berkus and Brent, a former assistant to Rachel Zoe, tied the knot at the New York Public Library in NYC. Guests included Oprah Winfrey, Dr. Oz, Rachael Ray, Busy Philipps and R&B singer Estelle.
Shortly after propping, Berkus told People Magazine, "I've known since our first date that Jeremiah was who I wanted to spend the rest of my life with. As we've shared the news of our engagement and been met with so much excitement and support we're both reminded of how important it is that every person have the legal right to marry the one they love."
While on the set of E!'s "The Fabulist" Berkus gushed about his desire to be a father one day.
"One thing at a time, but Nate will be the best dad," Berkus said. "I want like a soccer team. Unfortunately, it's not as easy for us like conventional couples as you can imagine. We both want kids. I would have five if I could, but we will probably have two."
