It was the singing of just one word by Jake Owen's young daughter that put a musical bow on the country star's celebration of his latest No. 1 song "Beachin.'"
With summertime fading in Nashville, Owen and the song's writers, Jaren Johnston, Jon Nite and Jimmy Robbins, were in a festive mood Sept. 22 as they gathered at the ASCAP building on Music Row to celebrate the chart-topping success of "Beachin'" - the quintessential summer song of 2014.
The party was highlighted by a precious moment between Jake and daughter Pearl, who turns 2 in November, according to countryweekly.com. Jake held her up to the microphone and beckoned her to sing along with him on the tune.
Holding his tiny daughter in his left arm, the proud father sang the mega-hit song's infectious line "Chillin', breezin', sippin', singin', whoa" - then he waited expectantly for Pearl to chime in with the final word, the song's title, reports cmt.com.
Instead, she shyly turned her face away from the crowd.
So Owen tried again. This time, little Pearl finished her father's line with perfection as she sang in a small, sweet voice, "Beachin'."
Owen beamed with delight.
"You know a song's good," he declared, "when a kid sings along with it."
