Derek Jeter's Last Foul Ball Sneakily Kept By Ball Boy

A New York Yankees ball boy was swift last night at Derek Jeter's last home game of his career.

After the Yankees legend hit his last foul ball at his home stadium, the ball boy, who was not identified, left the ball in his glove and tossed a regular baseball from his pocket into the stands.

It was an obvious switcheroo, but the ball boy was a fan too and probably wanted to keep a piece of Derek Jeter history for himself.

A sports memorabilia expert tells ABC News he estimates that the ball could be worth up to $10,000. His sneaky move that was aired on sports and news networks added value to the ball.

"It's worth the most it's ever going to be worth last night," said Bronson. "As Jeter fades from the spotlight, so do prices," Kevin Bronson, director of acquisitions at Leland Sports Auction House, tells ABC.

The Yankees have not commented on the ball boy's switch.
