At least four people have been injured in a shooting incident at a Halloween party on the University of Southern California (USC) campus, in Los Angeles on Wednesday.
The incident took place outside a Halloween party on or near campus and the campus remained on lockdown at around 1:30 a.m. According to a Los Angeles Times report, at least four people were wounded in the shooting, one of them critically.
According to the officials, the suspects shot at one person outside the party, but also hit three bystanders. The targeted victim suffered critical wounds to the buttocks and stomach and the other three suffered non-life threatening wounds.
The USC website reported that two suspects are in the custody of the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) and no other suspects are at large. The shooting occurred at approximately 11:30 p.m. in the area of Tutor Campus Center on the University Park campus. University authorities urged students to stay away from the location through an electronic alert as soon as the incident occurred.
"Trojans Alert: Threat is over. No students, faculty or staff involved. Campus open to those with USC ID. Classes resume in morning," a tweet from USC said.
According to Neon Tommy in the university newspaper, "the campus was on lockdown from midnight to 2 a.m., but Thursday classes will not be cancelled,"
