Early this morning, over 15 people were shot inside a new Miami nightclub.
The young victims were between 11- and 25-years-old, reports say. Witnesses tell CBS4 they heard at least 100 shots coming from at least four different guns at The Spot, a local Miami night club that opened about a month ago.
"What was very surprising to the responders was that these were kids that were out at 1 o'clock in the morning in a club and this type of violence took place where a bunch of kids were gathering ... it's very disturbing to see that," Miami Fire and Rescue Capt. Ignatius Carroll, who led the team that arrived on the scene, tells CBS Miami.
Investigators are still talking to witnesses trying to figure out exactly what was going on at the night club. Several reports indicate there are no leads yet on the shooter's identity or their motive.
Police are also investigating why so many minors were even at the night club this morning in the first place. People under 16 are not allowed to be out unsupervised in Miami-Dade county between midnight and 6 a.m. on the weekend due to a curfew law. (They must be supervised between 11 p.m. and 6 a.m. other days.)
