NFL Week 4: Monday Night Football Injury Report; Patriots Healthy, Chiefs Have RB Issues

The New England Patriots (2-1) will visit Kansas City on Monday Night to face the Chiefs (1-2) in the teams' first matchup since 2011. It will be the first time New England has traveled to Arrowhead Stadium since 2005, where they lost 26-16. The Patriots have no significant injuries entering tonight.

Most NFL teams dream of an injury report like the Patriots have for Week 4. They have only seven played listed and all of them are probable except one - defensive tackle Sealver Siliga - who isn't even seen on the team's depth chart. However, the other six players listed as "probable" were all limited in practice this week, which could have an effect on the team's chemistry on either side of the ball.

Tight end Rob Gronkowski (knee), cornerback Alfonzo Dennard (shoulder), linebacker Jamie Collins (thigh) and guard Dan Connolly (foot) were all limited participants in practice this week, but are expected to play tonight. Others include backup safety Don Jones (hamstring) and backup defensive end Michael Buchanan (ankle). Despite the limited number of injuries, the Patriots have struggled to find their offensive identity this season and have only gained a total of 904 yards and scored 66 points even with a +6 turnover ratio. Nearly half of those points came in their 30-7 Week 2 victory over the Vikings.

And the Chiefs have been struggling too. Their offense has scored only 62 points all year, with a majority of them coming in last week's 34-15 win in Miami against the Dolphins. However, Kansas City will be welcoming back Jamaal Charles to the lineup, who missed the last two games with an ankle injury, which should give the offense a bit of a spark. But his return comes at the loss of another running back. The Chiefs lost Joe McKnight to a ruptured Achilles tendon in practice on Thursday and he'll miss the rest of the year. Backup running back De'Anthony Thomas (hamstring) is also questionable.

On defense, Kansas City will be without starting safety Eric Berry due to an ankle injury. Along with Charles, starting linebacker Tamba Hali (ankle/knee) and starting cornerback Sean Smith (groin) were limited in practice this week, but are all expected to play. Starting defensive end Vance Walker (shoulder) was a full participant in practice on Friday and Saturday and will play tonight as well.

These two teams match up very similarly, so it should be an interesting contest. You can check out a preview for tonight's game here and take a look at the full injury report here.
