Oh, how the mighty have fallen.
Buffalo Bills quarterback EJ Manuel will be replaced by veteran Kyle Orton in the starting lineup for Buffalo's upcoming game against the Detroit Lions, ESPN reported. Manuel, the first quarterback selected in 2013's draft, has thrown for 838 yards, five touchdowns and three interceptions so far this season. The Bills (2-2) appear ready to move on from the Florida State product after just 14 games.
Buffalo made the announcement Monday afternoon.
Orton was signed in late August to a contract that pays him $5 million in the first year, while Manuel, a former 16th overall selection, will earn an estimated $2 million per season.
Orton has a career passer rating of 79.9. He has played for the Chicago Bears, Denver Broncos, Kansas City Chiefs and Dallas Cowboys.
