Samsung has introduced a new 27-inch curved monitor for PCs and Macs that is designed for immersive gaming with a dedicated Game Mode.
Samsung, the world's largest smartphone making company, explored the curved technology in TVs as well as smartphones and is looking to bring a similar experience to PCs. The Korean tech giant introduced an all-new 27-inch curved LED monitor, which aims at bringing an immersive gaming and entertainment experience to PC users with its perfectly engineered display.
Samsung's 27-inch curved SD590C monitor features a LED display with a wide-viewing angle of 178-degrees horizontally and vertically, giving more viewing than a flat 27-inch panel. It has a sleek metallic design with a curved T-shaped stand holding the monitor in mid-air. The monitor packs 5-Watt, 2-channel dual stereo speakers for high-quality audio.
"As a leader in the display industry, Samsung is committed to pushing the envelope on both monitor design and technology to offer consumers the best experience possible," Ron Gazzola, vice president of marketing at Samsung Electronics America, said in a statement published by Business Wire. "The SD590C represents that vision, with a curved design that was carefully engineered to draw you into the display and truly make you feel a part of the content."
According to Samsung, the SD590C features six pre-programmed modes, including the Game Mode, which automatically adjusts the screen for suitable viewing experience. It " intelligently detects changes in scenes, enhances the color, and alters the screen's contrast to make the darks darker and the lights lighter," Samsung said.
Extreme PC gamers can also connect two or three monitors with an extra graphics card to get a real-life experience with surround-screen viewing. For such high-end experience, consumers will need to spend a whole lot as each monitor will carry a price tag of $429.99. The SD590C is expected to be avaialble from Oct. 1.
