Bouncer Accused of Killing Three Coworkers In Retaliation For Mocking Him in a Pratical Joke

A Florida bouncer was charged with first-degree felony murder after he shot and killed three of his co-workers because they mocked him in a practical joke, officials said.

Andrew Joseph Lobban, 31, allegedly was upset with his coworkers when they rigged his gun so it would misfire at a recent trip to the shooting range, confusing Lobban as he struggled to control the firearm. His coworkers filmed the "practical joke."

According to reports, the joke was brought up to Lobban on Saturday night when he was out drinking with friends. Lobban allegedly became infuriated with his colleagues and shot them around 1 a.m. outside local bar AJ's.

The victims were identified as Benjamin Larz Howard, 23, of Belleview; Jerry Bynes Jr, 20; Josue Santiago, 25, both from Ocala.

The Daily Mail reported that three victims were shot in the head. Two of the victims were reported dead on the scene while one was later pronounced dead at the hospital.

David Rutherford was in the bar when the shooting happened.

"All you hear is the bouncer yelling, 'Get back'" Rutherford told WKMG. "It was hard not knowing what was going on. You peek out and you see guys laying on the ground."

Lobban was arrested later that morning at his girlfriend's house in Silver Spring Shores.

According to the affidavit, Lobban admitted to the shooting, telling officers that he only meant to shoot Santiago and the other two were "accidents." He told authorities that he dumped a 9mm pistol and a black t-shirt in a nearby dumpster.

The men's boss Bobby Tillander told the Ocala Star Banner the incident was "out of character for Lobban," describing the killer as quiet and reserved.

"If he said 10 words to you during his shift, he said a lot," Tillander told the Star Banner.

Lobban is currently being held in Marion County Jail without bond.
