Rihanna may be the next franchise leading lady in the Daniel Craig’s upcoming “Bond 24” film.
Hollywood Life reports the singer has been offered a role in the film but hasn’t accepted the deal just yet.
“There have definitely been discussions of her joining the cast to be a Bond Girl,” a source told Hollywood Life. “But she will not be the most focused Bond Girl if she gets the part. It will be more of a glorified cameo.
“Something that they have done in the past with people like Madonna, it will be a brief part of the film if she ends up making an appearance.”
The singer might also play double duty in the film, as she is also rumored to be creating the next “Bond” theme song.
“They are actually looking for her to do the theme and the role would just be an added bonus,” the source said.
Speaking of Bond, actor Idris Elba recently told fans he would love to take on the character after Craig is finished with the franchise. Elba spoke to fans during a Reddit “Ask Me Anything” where fans asked him about becoming 007.
The actor claimed he would “absolutely” take on the role if it was offered to him. However, Elba also wouldn’t mind playing a bad guy in the upcoming Bond films.
“I find villains way more compelling to unearth their psyche. Writers love writing for villains because they can get a lot more off their chest, and it just means a lot more stuff for the actor to do,” he told the Redditors.
“But good guys are also a challenge, because if you don't get the balance between being real and being, you know, a stereotypically good guy, your character can come across as corny. So each has its challenges, but I think being a bad guy has more."
